Mr. Klumpp joined Ware Public Schools in August 2014 as the Library/Computer Teacher at SMK. He thinks the staff is great, which makes it easy to work here. The kids are also fun to work with. Since Ware isn’t very big, he finds it easier to get to know all of the students as they come through his classes.
Mr. Klumpp grew up in a family where most of them taught. Since he was always around teaching it felt like the natural career choice. He also likes the idea of helping kids learn and develop skills, then to see them advance as they get older.
In 1998, Mr. Klumpp received a B.A. in History from Hamilton College. He continued his education and received a M.L.S. (Masters in Library Science) from University at Albany in 2001. Prior to teaching in Ware, Mr. Klumpp taught for 9 years at Minnechaug Regional High School and 3 years at Holyoke Public Schools.
Mr. Klumpp lives with Easthampton with his wife, who is also a teacher. When he is not in the classroom he enjoys gardening, cooking and playing basketball, as well as watching his son and daughter play for their various teams. Mr. Klumpp also enjoys travelling. This past summer he and his family spent 2½ weeks in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
