Ware Public Schools welcomed Mrs. LaPierre as the WMS 4th Grade Special Education Teacher in August 2018. The friendliness of her colleagues and their willingness to help is one reason Mrs. LaPierre enjoys working in Ware. She has also met some wonderful families who want and deserve quality education and instruction.
Growing up, Mrs. LaPierre had some really outstanding teachers. In 5th grade, her teacher let her design her own research projects and her 8th grade ELA teacher taught her to love classic literature. Mrs. LaPierre wanted to become that teacher for at least one student.
In 1986, Mrs. LaPierre earned a B.A. Cum Laude in English and American Literature from Harvard University. She received her Master of Education/Special Education from American International College in 2011. Mrs. LaPierre continued to further her education at Southern New Hampshire University earning her Master of Education/Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Leadership in 2017.
Prior to teaching in Ware, Mrs. Lapierre was a paraprofessional at Tantasqua Regional School District for over 12 years. She also worked in the Spencer/East Brookfield School District and Seven Hills Charter Public School.
Mrs. LaPierre is a Member of the Western MA Corvette Club. She and her husband own a 2006 Corvette Convertible and a 1978 Buick Centurion.
