See Something? Say Something.
See Something? Say Something. Dear Families and Staff,
Tonight, I write to you with a heavy heart. Today’s school shooting in Texas was as horrific as it was incomprehensible. The Ware school community knows there is no solution to be found in violence, and we mourn with the victims’ families and friends.
In Ware, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. We developed our safety protocols with the help of law enforcement to make sure we follow best practices. In light of this incident, we will be reviewing these procedures and safety measures to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep everyone in our schools safe. We are a Sandy Hook Promise school district, and all our students and staff know they can help create a safer community by following the advice that if they see something, they should say something.
Over the next few days, we are sure to learn more about what happened in Texas. As that happens, your students may ask more questions, and become concerned about their own school. Ware’s school counselors are well-equipped to help them through this.
If you have concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or your student’s building principal. We want to help in any way that we can.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marlene DiLeo
