Dear Ware Learning Community,

Good day!  As the 2020/21 school year nears an end, I wanted to reach out to thank everyone for their support and patience throughout this challenging year.  Since March 2020 the uncertainty of how to educate our children during a public health crisis was unclear and daunting.  Throughout, we were able to persevere in confronting the myriad of issues we needed to overcome to provide in‑person learning.  Through it all the School Committee, Administrators, Teachers, and Staff came together to build and implement a plan that allowed cohorts of students to attend school in-person.  Not a small task to assume; however, not once did anyone waiver in taking on this herculean undertaking.

As we look toward the 2021/22 school year, I look forward to having ALL students return to in‑person learning for the start of the year on Thursday, August 26, 2021.  At this time, there will be no mask or social distancing mandates.  If for any reason the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has new guidance to this, I will keep you updated to any changes throughout the summer.  Knowing what we have accomplished over the last fifteen months only solidifies my belief that Ware’s town motto, “The Town that can’t be licked”, is reflective in the students and families of Ware Public Schools.

The last day of school is Monday, June 21st, which is a half day with no lunches served.  WJSHS will dismiss at 11:15 and SMK/WMS will dismiss at 12:00.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable summer break!

All the best,

Marlene A. DiLeo, Ed.D.
