WMS Music Teacher

Ware Public Schools welcomed Ms. Kirstin Morin as the WMS Music Teacher in August 2014.  Before teaching in Ware, Ms. Morin taught in Springfield and Holyoke.  Ms. Morin is in her sixth year of teaching general music and chorus to grades 4-6 in WMS and her first year of teaching chorus to grades 7-8 at the Junior High School.  Ms. Morin loves teaching recorders, ukulele, folkdance and singing!  By sharing an abundance of diverse musical experiences with students, she hopes to inspire a joy of music that last a lifetime.

Ms. Morin is thrilled to have established two chorus electives at the Junior High School for the 2019-2020 academic year.  It has been a longstanding goal of hers to expand the choral opportunities for Ware students and this first year has been prosperous.  Ms. Morin is excited to see how the choral program develops in the coming years as the Ware music program continues to thrive.

By the end of Ms. Morin’s high school career, she was not only a member of every chorus her school had to offer, she was also the choral accompanist and music department intern.  Ms. Morin’s passion for music, along with her high school choral director’s inspiration, influenced her music career choice and ultimately solidified her interest to pursue teaching music to others.

In 2012, Ms. Morin graduated from Westfield State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.  She pursued her Masters of Music Education at the University of Hartford’s The Hartt School from 2016-2018.

Ms. Morin was lucky to have a very musical family growing up.  She started piano lessons when she was nine and began voice lessons at age twelve.  Ms. Morin sang in her church’s choir and eventually became the church organist at the age of the thirteen.  Although music is Ms. Morin’s career, it is also her hobby.  She is currently involved in a chamber choir, which performs throughout Western MA.
