The screening subcommittee is very pleased to present two highly qualified finalists for the School Committee’s consideration. Each candidate brings a strong record of leadership and a demonstrated commitment to supporting and strengthening their school communities. While their backgrounds and approaches differ, both individuals offer valuable perspectives and skills that align well with the district’s goals and priorities.

An opportunity for community members to meet the candidates will take place on Wednesday, March 11. We will share the location and time of the Meet & Greet soon.



Nicole Heroux

The Superintendent Search Subcommittee presents Nicole Heroux for consideration for the position of Superintendent of Ware Public Schools. Ms. Heroux currently serves as a Director of Student/Pupil Services and has held similar roles in multiple districts, including Pathfinder, Monson, and Granby.

Ms. Heroux has experience in special education administration, program development, and inter-district collaboration. She has also worked with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and has participated in the NEASC accreditation process, including service on site visit teams.

Ms. Heroux resides in Belchertown and indicated familiarity with the Ware community. During the interview, she discussed approaches to supporting staff and students, including the use of partnerships, volunteers, and student-based opportunities to supplement staffing and programming.


Marc Gosselin

The Superintendent Search Subcommittee presents Marc Gosselin for consideration for the position of Superintendent of Ware Public Schools. Mr. Gosselin has held a range of positions in education, including paraeducator, teacher, substitute teacher, principal, RTI coordinator, interim superintendent, and superintendent.

Mr. Gosselin has experience with district leadership, including budget management and program implementation, as well as experience with the NEASC accreditation process.

He has experience with special education programming, including inclusive practices and a continuum of services based on individual student needs. Mr. Gosselin also referenced prior efforts to engage community members through informal, accessible opportunities for communication and feedback.
