Superintendent's Message

Where did the summer go?  It is hard to believe the start of the new school year is upon us.  The administration has been planning and preparing for the start of a new year by filling vacant positions, setting teachers’ professional development for the year, working on schedules, unpacking supplies, writing grants and the list goes on.

The final phase of the carpet removal at SMK has been completed.  No longer is there a dreary rug throughout the building but bright color flooring which provides a cheerful setting for our elementary school.  All buildings on campus have undergone a massive cleanup.  Floors have been stripped, washed and waxed, desks have been cleaned, rugs have been shampooed, and windows washed.  Thanks to Building and Grounds Director, Chris Dymon, and his crew who have spent the summer preparing our buildings to receive students.

On campus there is great anticipation in the air as we prepare to receive students.  The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 starts on Monday, August 28th.  First day of school for kindergarten students is Friday, September 1st with pre-k students starting on Tuesday, September 5th.

Looking forward to another successful school year!
