3rd Grade Corn HuskingFor the last several years the Food Service dept.  has done a “Massachusetts Harvest for Students Week”.  Produce is used from local farms to serve to the students, typically on the last week in September.  Each year the 3rd grade shucks the corn for the entire district) to serve the next day for lunch (720 ears)  They also learn the benefits of farm to school and exactly where their food comes from.After the Harvest Week, produce from local farms is still purchased until the supply runs out.
