Rachel Masse - Ware High School Class of 2003

I graduated from Ware High School in 2003. While attending Ware High School, I was the class secretary, part of the yearbook committee, and played varsity volleyball and softball. I was also part of the Pro-Merito Honor Society. After graduating, I attended Holyoke Community College and received my Associate’s Degree in Sport Management. I graduated HCC with honors and was readily accepted into the University of Massachusetts- Amherst’s competitive Sport Management program. While at Umass, I worked on campus, as well as volunteered for a Springfield youth program. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from Umass, I completed two internships in Minor League Baseball, one being with the Boston Red Sox affiliate the Portland Sea Dogs in Portland, Maine. Upon completing my internships, I knew I wanted to go back to school to gain an even more rewarding and challenging experience, so I entered the Springfield College Graduate Program for Education. I graduated from the program in May of 2013 with a Master’s Degree in Special Education. I worked for the Chicopee Public Schools for a few years working with students with Autism. It feels like it’s been a long and very gratifying journey, but I am delighted and very grateful to be back working here, in my hometown, at SMK. I am currently the Kindergarten Special Education Teacher.
