The Special Education Surrogate Parent (SESP) Program is recruiting volunteers.  The SESP makes special education decisions for children in the custody of the Department of Children and Families (DCF).  The SESP volunteer fulfills a vital role and receives training in special education laws/regulations, the IEP process, and the role of the SESP.

In order to be appointed as an SESP, you must be at least eighteen years old, complete an application, provide two references, and complete a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.  Anyone wishing to obtain more information or to register for a training session is welcome to call the SESP Program at (508) 792-7679 or email at sespp@earthlink.net.  You may also visit the program website at www.sespprogram.org to view scheduled trainings.
