Michaela Brennan is one of the 6th Grade Math and Science Teachers at Ware Middle School.  She was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and went to Saint Peter-Marian High School. While at Saint Peter-Marian, Miss Brennan was encouraged to become a part of the community and volunteer when she could. She took part in a leadership class as a senior that educated freshman on safety tips as they began to make real life decisions. One of her volunteer experiences was at Camp Sunshine, a camp designed for children and families struggling with life-threatening illnesses. These programs fostered Miss Brennan’s love of teaching and she knew that she wanted to have a career designed around helping children.

Miss Brennan attended Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts where she majored in Elementary Education. While at Emmanuel College, she gained a variety of experiences in many urban classrooms, completed her student teaching in Dorchester, MA, and was a Math Tutor for the college.

Throughout college, Miss Brennan worked at a Boys & Girls Club as a Summer Program Counselor and then, an Assistant Program Director. As Assistant Program Director, she taught at risk teens Financial Literacy, job skills, and fostered their success as a Junior Staff Member within the Boys & Girls Club.

Miss Brennan began her teaching career as a long term substitute for a Kindergarten class in Hopkinton, MA. Following the long term substitute position, Miss Brennan taught in Oxford, MA as a 6th Grade Math and Science Teacher for one year before coming to Ware.

At Ware Middle School, Miss Brennan implemented a workshop model in her classroom which allows for students to receive individualized instruction. The model allows her to bring in engaging and creative ideas to motivate her students. The students favorite activity is the computer station where they get to enjoy an engaging math game that correlates to the Common Core Standards they are currently working on. Miss Brennan looks forward to adjusting and improving this model in the future years at Ware Middle School.
