Officer Aaron DeSantis was born and raised in Ware. He attended St. Mary’s school from grades 2-8 and attended High School at Quabbin Regional to take advantage of the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training program. After graduating from Quabbin Regional High School he enlisted in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer on active duty. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. During his enlistment, he was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom two times (2005-2006 and 2007-2008) for a total of 26 months.

After ending his active duty service, Mr. DeSantis re-enlisted in the National Guard and continued to live in Georgia. In 2010 he returned to Iraq as a Private Military Contractor where he spent and additional 24 months working for various companies. When the military contacts ended in Iraq, he left to attend the Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy in 2012 to become a full time police officer. He has been working in Ware as a police officer for nearly four years. Officer DeSantis worked as a regular patrol officer and firearms instructor before taking the job as the School Resource Officer. Officer DeSantis stated that he looks forward to working with the faculty and students to make Ware Schools a safer and better place to learn.
