WPS LogoDear Ware Families,

Good day! Hope this communication finds you and your families doing well as we work our way through these challenging times. I am writing to remind folks that for the District to continue to have in-person hybrid learning everyone must do their part to help in stemming the tide of this virus that is on the rise. Presently, we have been fortunate that infection has been minimal for students, teachers and staff within the District; however, the community spread is on the rise. Today’s communication is to remind everyone that following the CDC recommendations of mask wearing, social distancing, washing hands and surfaces is imperative to staying healthy and blunting the spread of this virus.

If community spread continues to increase and seep its way into the District, we may need to halt in-person learning for a while in order to stem the spread of the disease. This is a decision I am reluctant to make; however, putting the health and well-being of students, teachers and staff is my top priority. We continue to be vigilant in executing of all our safety protocols put in place at the start of the school year, which has allowed us to implement in-person learning until this time. We have been fortunate in this regard as many school districts are still trying to phase in-person learning into their schools.

Another issue that the District is battling daily is securing substitutes when teachers and/or paraprofessionals are out. If at any time a school does not have the appropriate staffing to assure a safe opening of a building, I may need to flip that school to remote learning for a day or two until I am assured that we have the appropriate number of staffing to receive students safely within that building.

Thank you for your continued support and patience through these challenging times. I am looking forward to the New Year of 2021 when we may be able to get back to some resemblance of the “old normal” again.
Wishing you and your families a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!

All the best,
Dr. Marlene A. DiLeo
