Superintendent's Message

Greetings!  It’s that time of year again – BACK TO SCHOOL!  Since the students departed for summer break campus has been busy with cleaning of buildings, interviewing & hiring new staff, ordering and receiving supplies and materials, along with replacing the leadership at Ware JR/SR High School.  This year we welcome Mr. Edwin Ramos as the new principal and Mr. Steve Alaownis as the new assistant principal.  Mr. Ramos comes to us from the Ayer-Shirley Regional School District where he was an Assistant Principal.  Mr. Alaownis has worked for Ware Public Schools as a middle school teacher for the last 13 years.  The district is extremely excited about the new leadership at the JR/SR High School and look forward to the year ahead.

The district is rolling out a new English Language Arts curriculum of McGraw-Hill “Wonders” Program in grades K-6.  With the new acquisition of the ELA curriculum it will provide teachers with an abundance of research-based print and digital resources that will ensure continuity and equity of instruction for all students grade to grade.

Last year, during the Stakeholders’ Meeting that was held to gather information as we developed a new District Improvement Plan, parents mentioned they would like more district-to-home communication.  To help achieve this we will be introducing a district APP shortly to assist us in doing just that.  In addition, an update to our website will also occur to assist in getting out information to families.

Looking forward to a successful school year working with students, families, and the Ware Learning Community.
